Richard G. Hill

Richard G. Hill (AKA Ricardo, Wedo, Papo), born August 1946, passed peacefully on November 25, 2024, surrounded by his wife Laura of 50 yrs, his children, grandchildren and dear friends. He was a quiet kind soul who loved his family above all else. He was a good man, an endearing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife; sons: Richard, Ryan and Cole; his grandchildren: Kailee, Gabby, Degan, Brooke, Elijah, Richard, Suri, Trinity and Ty; his 9 siblings: Mary, Linda, Cecil, Arthur, Joe Angel, Lilian and Hopi; and close childhood friends: Sam (Jap) Altamirano and family, along with Richard Leza and family. Wedo enjoyed writing and telling his childhood stories to his family and friends. His warm personality, great attitude, and zest for life will be greatly missed. He was a rock-n-roll music fan of Jimmy Hendricks, Janise Joplin and Bob Dylan to name a few. He enjoyed coaching the Little League games for baseball, soccer, and basketball. He was a die-hard 12man fan of the Seattle Seahawks since the 1970, at times when in Seattle he would attend games with son Richard and our heart family friends. When he could not attend, he would call his son, who attended, and watch the game via phone. At the end the calls he would always say "Peace Chicken Grease and Boom Chukka Boom, I love you son". It always brought joy to both of them. He enjoyed camping and hunting with his sons and grandson Degan Hill, friends, Fond memories of dart parties through the years with great friends. He was preceded in death are his parents: Adan Hill and Minnie Ambriz; brother, Jimmy Hill; and other family members. There will be a private graveside service with family and dearest close friends on January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. for the interment Memorial Urn, Placitas Hill Cemetery. Off HWY 26, Placitas, NM 87043. A Celebration of his Life will follow at Placitas Community Center, 241 Monticello Ave, Hatch, NM 87937, at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wedo was a religious man, he wanted a party celebrating his life and gathering of his friends and heart family.
