Roger Montoya

A rosary will be recited for Roger Montoya, 49, of Roswell, at 7pm, Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Roger at 10 am, Monday, May 11, 2009, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Roger was born August 16, 1959 to Rojerio S. Montoya and Virgilia P. Aragon in Roswell. He married Linda Albarez on February 6, 1998 in Roswell, she survives Roger in the family home. He enjoyed raising game birds, coaching Little League Baseball, he played 1st base in men’s softball and played in many pool tournaments. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and spending time with his “Homies”. Roger was a former member of the Justice Car Club. He was a faithful fan of the NFL Saints. He was also the score keeper for the Roswell Youth Football League. In addition to his wife Linda, Roger is survived by sons; Ernesto Montoya and his wife Lisa from Carlsbad, Salvador Briseno Sr. from Roswell, daughter; Erica Montoya,grandchildren; Michelle and Emily Montoya, Leana Briseno, Benny Ray Briseno, Issac Briseno, Salvador Briseno Jr., Vinnie Ramirez, three brothers; Frank Montoya and his wife Erica, Manuel Manny Montoya and Geronimo Jerry Aragon and his wife, Anna and their children, Alexis and Jeremy Aragon and his family, all of Roswell, his godchildren; Mark and Catrina Montoya, Robert Perez Jr. and Eric Orona, his two favorite aunts, Eva Aragon and her family, Josie Montoya and her family and Martina Aragon and her family,special nephews, Fermine and Stanley Montoya, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Pallbearers will be Robert (Mulo) Perez, Ernesto Estrada, Uncle Johnny Albarez, Frankie Samario, Jason Bethany and Louie Gomez. Homies very Special Honorary Pallbearers will be, Lawrence Brady, Lupe Ruiz, Cisco Perez, Mike Alsasi, Azzie Aziz, George Romero, Octavio Ruiz, Leroy Wymer, Jerry Staci, Raul Amaya, George Mongomery, Alvino, Alfred Romero, Raymond, Mark, Par Farr, Saul Haney, Martin Guajaca, Raymond Farmer, Rudy Guebara and Danny Suarez. His very special friends Dilly Brady, Marilyn Wynn, Virgie Romero, Virginia Brito, Jane Orona, and many more friends to numerous to mention. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Virgilia Montoya, his sister, Catarina Montoya, his grandparents, Francisco and Catarina Aragon and a nephew, Francisco F. Montoya Jr. There will be a reunion for all those that would like to attend after the funeral at the Ave Maria Center.
