Roxxan L. Nunez

Roxxan L. Nunez passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with the Nunez family at www.andersonbethany.com. A Rosary will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 9 am, with a burial to follow afterwards at South Park Cemetery. Roxxan’s family will be having a reception following the services at San Juan Bautista by St. John’s Catholic Church. Born in El Paso, Texas, on September 5, 1968, she was always welcoming and ready to offer a compliment. Her contagious laugh and bright smile will be missed by many. Roxxan worked at various places including Kenny’s Shoes, Nova Bus, and Foot Locker in her younger days. She was also a certified forklift operator. For a short while she also attended CNM in Albuquerque and studied Hospitality and Tourism. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and prided herself on knowing all the prayers. Some of her favorite hobbies included fishing, bike riding, dancing, going to concerts, watching CSI shows, cooking and hanging out with friends. She also loved going to Starbucks and admiring the New Mexico sunrise and sunsets. She was an avid dog lover and enjoyed spending lots of time at the local dog park with her partner in crime BoBo. She also loved smoking her bowls, bird watching, and was always dreaming of having a “sweet ride,” which is probably why she always kept her car so clean. She was a die-hard Cowboys fan and big fan of Holly Holm (mostly because she was from New Mexico) and Johnny Tapia. She liked watching MMA, wrestling, and boxing matches. Her memory will be carried on by her mother, Lucy Nunez; son, Anthony (Candace) Nickles; brother, Antonio (Jennifer) Nunez; nephew, Michael (Angel) Morse; nieces: Allysia (James) Scheu, Angelica (James) Loukus, Samantha Chavez, and Serena Nunez; aunts and uncles: Katy Brito, Juan (Tina) Nunez, Margie (Roger) Onstad, Dora (Ismael) Alvarado, Linda Jo (Levi) Martinez, Helen Martinez, Roy (Anna Marie) Nunez, Chano (Angela) Nunez, Nellie Vargas, Oscar Bencomo, Elizabeth Lucero, Nacho Quintero and Carol Lucero; and also several cousins and close friends that will cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her Father: Antonio Nunez Sr. , both her paternal grandparents: Salomon and Yaya Nunez and Tillie Carabajal; maternal grandparents: Antonio and Teodorita Lucero; godparents: Dorothy and Juan Perez; various aunts and uncles: Melecio Brito, Rita Nunez, Lupe Bencomo, Mary and Albert Silva, Raymond (Momis) and Connie Lucero, Larry “waterdog” and Virginia Lucero, Manuel “Jiggs” Lucero, Richard Lucero, Teresa and Chon Chacon, Bebe Quintero, and Roy Vargas; as well as, cousins: Jose Quintero, Tracy Davis, Abraham Nunez, Roy Vargas Jr, and Boom Boom Martinez. She was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Nunez. Pallbearers will be Cyndy Ratliff, Bobby Lee Watson, Henry Portio, Jon Nunez, Richard Gonzales, Teri Godinez, Dora Lujan, Bobbie Contreras and Denise Hernandez. Roxxan’s family would like to thank all the family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
