Terry passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at his home. Terry was born October 11, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK to Gloria Nottingham. He and Sharon Trujillo were married October 30, 1975 in Roswell. Sharon survives him in the family home. Terry served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard, for 23 years and was honorably discharged with many honors, awards and achievements. He was a loving, dedicated, faithful husband, father, grandpo, brother and one who loved life. Kirby was a hardworking man of integrity, one who never compromised on doing what was right. He was always willing to lend a hand or give advice to anyone who asked. Terry was a man committed to his country, who served with valor and a very devoted family man. He was known to his friends as a caring and loving man who will be missed greatly. In addition to his wife Sharon, Terry is survived by one son: Terry M. Kirby, one daughter; Stacy D. Proctor, one granddaughter; Savannah Kirby, two grandsons; Justin Kirby and Jeremiah Proctor, all of Roswell; five sisters, Barbara Blevins, Linda Roberts, Vickie Dunn, Twyla Johnson and Joann Irish. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Robinson and a brother, Raymond Brooks. Footprints One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints; other times there was only one. During the lowest times of my life I could see only one set of footprints, so I said, “Lord, you promised me that you would walk with me always, Why, when I have needed you most, would you leave me!” The Lord replied, “My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
