Travis Wilson

Travis Wilson, 51, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 31, 2024, in Las Cruces, NM. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Travis’ family at www.andersonbethany.com. There will be a Memorial Service at Church on the Move on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 10:30 am. On August 27, 1973, Travis was born to James and Jeanette Wilson in Roswell, NM. He attended Goddard High School, where he graduated. He married Michelle Wilson on September 18, 1999, in Roswell, NM. Michelle and Travis raised two amazing children, Kaitlynn and Justin. Travis was a coach for little league baseball and soccer. He received awards in archery, little league baseball, and football. Travis worked at Desert Security as a Security Tech for 23 years. Travis loved the outdoors and camping and fishing with family, watching Yellowstone, drinking coffee on the porch, hunting, riding horses in the mountains, working on his property, helping others, listening to country music, shooting guns, grilling, and welding. His favorite sports team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was the number one fan of John Wayne, and his favorite phrase was “Git-R-Dun”. Travis will be missed by his family and friends. Those left to eternally treasure and cherish memories of Travis are his wife, Michelle Wilson; son, Justin Wilson, 18 years old; daughter, Kaitlynn, 22 years old; son-in-love, Carlos Mendoza, 23 years old; grandchild, Kinsleigh Mendoza, 1.5 years old; mother, Jeanette Wilson; in-laws: Mike and Shirley Borem; sister, Carrie Daniels; brother-in-love, Jordon Daniels; aunts and uncles: Linda and Craig Weldon; Marcie Wilson, Mary Seely, Alice Seely, Rose Alice Johnson, and Sandra Smith; nieces and nephews: Victoria Dennis Vazquez and Carlos Vazquez; numerous cousins; and many close friends. Travis is preceded in death by his father, James E. Wilson; grandparents: Junior and Lorene Wilson, along with Jim and Ada May Seely; mamaw, Alma Musick; uncles: Clyde Seely, George Seely, Jim Seely, Gene Johnson, Richard Smith, Ronney Wilson, Johnnie and Ruby Beeman; cousins: Will Seely and Jay Beeman. Blessed to be chosen as Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Townsend, JD Richardson, Poncho Maples, Joe Seely, Sam Seely, Matt Seely, Joe Borem, Jordan Daniels, and Rick Rose. The family of Travis wishes to extend sincere thanks to Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Mesilla Valley Hospice, Church on the Move, Dr. Stacey at ENMMC ER, Lauren Blake ICU Case Manager, and Dr. Dobbs at Del Sol Medical Center. Travis’ tribute was written in his honor by his family.
